Alex Lundberg

Founder & Managing Director

Alex founded RockCap after a career as a professional rugby player, during which he represented Wasps, Ealing Trailfinders, Bedford Blues and England at junior international level. Retiring from professional sport gave him the drive to build something from scratch and a clear sense of the standards required to do it properly.

Alex leads RockCap’s advisory business, with deep expertise across the full capital stack, senior debt, mezzanine, bridging and equity. He works closely with clients throughout the lifecycle of each transaction, from initial structuring and lender selection through to deal execution, on-going monitoring, and, where required, facility restructuring.

His approach is straightforward: understand what a client is trying to achieve, build the right structure around it, and execute with precision.

Rayn Smid

Associate Director

Rayn joined RockCap following a career as a professional rugby player. Recently retired from the game, he has made the transition into financial services full-time, bringing with him the discipline, competitiveness and team-first mentality that defines elite sport.

Rayn works across all areas of the business, supporting clients and lenders in moving transactions through the pipeline, analysing new deals as they come in, and playing an active role in originating new business. He’s a key part of the day-to-day running of the firm and brings a sharp, results-driven approach to everything he does.

His background in professional sport means he understands the commitment required to perform at the highest level — and he brings that same focus to his work at RockCap.

Jack Willis

Strategic Advisor

Jack was involved with RockCap from the very early days, playing an instrumental role in the early days and winning some of the firm’s first clients. An elite professional rugby player by trade, Jack brought the same competitive drive and relationship-building instincts to the early development of the business that he applies on the field.

Now based in the south of France, Jack remains connected to RockCap in an advisory capacity, lending his perspective on leadership, performance and new business as and when appropriate.
